Confidential, exclusive and non-conformist, jewellery from the House of René Boivin has spanned the ages with a singular chic profoundly influenced by designer Suzanne Belperron. It was she who created the spherical ‘Sablier’ necklace in 1932, a model that Boivin would continue to use, with this one dating from the 1980s.

The masterful work of gold, inspired by a 1st-century AD imperial Rome antique piece from Boscoreale, near Pompeii, is in the great tradition of the Boivin style: it has a delicate exuberance and a perfect sense of volume and architecture combined with a subtle blend of influences in the use of braided, twisted and textured gold.
